Document Storage – Advanced Analytics

Where to Save Project Documents

  • ARC Data Analytics SharePoint’s Projects Folder is the standard location for all project documents.
This ensures consistent access and avoids permission issues.

Folder Structure & Organization

  1. Create a Dedicated Project Folder

    • Each POC or project should have its own folder in the team’s SharePoint.
    • Name folders clearly to reflect the project’s name and purpose.
    • Use SharePoint tags to specify team and other metadata.
  2. Use Existing Folders for Related Projects

    • If your POC builds on an existing project, use the existing folder.
    • Organize new files in subfolders for clarity.
  3. Segregate Files by Project Phase

    • Within each project folder, create subfolders for phases (e.g., POC, MVP, Enhancements).
  4. Maintain Consistent Naming

    • Use clear, consistent names for folders and files to make searching and retrieval easier.
  5. Review and Update Regularly

    • Periodically review folder structures.
    • Archive or delete outdated files using the status tag for archiving.

Access & Permissions

  • All ARCsters have read access to project folders.
  • Only the Data Analytics team has write access.

What to Save

  • Save all documents outside of code development (e.g., charters, POC one-pagers, presentations) in the project folder.
  • Do not save project documents in other platforms (e.g., Teams, OneDrive).
