Archiving Envirosoft Emissions Tables

How It Works

Users from the Sustainability Team with archiving rights have access to a shared Notebook in Databricks. When a user runs this notebook, it creates an archive of the Envirosoft tables. Archiving is tracked based on the following entries made by the user:

  • Reference Year
  • User: user email address is used to track who initiated the archive
  • Type of report: Corporate Inventory (ESG) vs. Regulatory Reporting (TIER)
  • Reporting Status: Draft vs Final
  • Comment: free form entry for additional context
  • Date of archive creation: does not have to be entered by user but will be collected

The Archiving Notebook and Process

Those with archiving rights can access the Notebook using this link:
Emissions Archive Databricks notebook

Users can also access the notebook by navigating to

  • WORKSPACE in Databricks (top of left hand side menu)
  • TEAM, Team - Environmental
  • Open the Notebook titled “Emissions Archive”

Triggering Archive

The Notebook provides clear instructions and requires 2 main steps:

  1. Fill out the required fields at the top of the Notebook page as shown in this image: User Selection
  2. Run (execute) the code in the next two cells. This can be done from the very top of the Notebook by the user selection window (“Run all” once selections are made) or by clicking the arrow symbol at the top left-hand corner of each code cell.
